Vision Therapy

Options is proud to offer vision therapy at our Adelaide Tea Tree Plaza location

What Is Vision Therapy?

Vision Therapy (VT) is a non-invasive program designed to improve the function of the eye’s internal and external muscles. It helps treat conditions that can affect how the eyes work together.

Common symptoms that may benefit from Vision Therapy include:

  • Eye strain and visual fatigue
  • Headaches triggered by reading or screens
  • Blurry or fluctuating vision
  • Trouble focusing when switching between near and distant objects
  • Eye turns or alignment issues (strabismus)

Who Is Suitable for Vision Therapy?

Vision Therapy is suitable for children aged 3 and above, as well as adults with specific visual challenges.

Children may benefit from Vision Therapy if they:

  • Have been prescribed anti-fatigue or “boost” lenses
  • Have a lazy eye (amblyopia)
  • Struggle to concentrate when reading
  • Have difficulty tracking words or catching a ball
  • Frequently skip lines or lose their place when reading

Adults and teens may benefit if they:

  • Experience visual discomfort during prolonged tasks
  • Struggle with depth perception or spatial awareness
  • Have trouble reading or focusing on moving objects

Benefits of Vision Therapy

A customised Vision Therapy program can:

  • Reduce or eliminate the need for glasses (for some eye conditions)
  • Improve reading ability and concentration
  • Enhance depth perception and sporting performance
  • Minimise or correct eye turns
  • Reduce eye strain and headaches

The goal is to build long-lasting visual efficiency, helping the brain and eyes work in harmony across all activities.

Why Haven’t I Heard of Vision Therapy Before?

While Vision Therapy has been around for generations, it’s not routinely offered in all clinics. At Options Optometrists Tea Tree Plaza, we prioritise time, care, and personalised attention—especially for our younger patients. We’ve created an environment where children feel supported, and their visual development is front and centre.
